Before the Wedding
You need to do THIS before your wedding:
*** Get License ***
LESS THAN 90 DAYS BEFORE THE BIG DAY: Bring $40 (cash) and get your license from the Register of Deeds Office in any county in South Dakota.
BRING THE LICENSE TO THE WEDDING CEREMONY FOR YOUR OFFICIANT TO SIGN!

- Both parties need to be present at the appointment to sign their marriage license application.
- A state-issued ID, passport, or birth certificate is required.
- Both parties must be 18 years of age or older. Those 16/17 must have parental consent.
